The Perfect Surf Trip

Me and two friends rented this place for a week in February to be close to the surf. We got what we wanted, we were as close as you can get to the beach in Guiones. Not only that, the house was just perfect. Very well designed, clean and quiet. The swimming pool is surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden where it is very pleasant to hang out and have a beer after our surf sessions. Many good restaurants are just a short walk from the house but it was also very convenient to hire local cook Clara for some delicious Costa Rican food and have dinner on the beautiful teak table. Rick the owner was very nice and helpful. We had been in Nosara for surfing many times before, but this was our best trip for sure. I would definitely recommend this place to any of my friends or family.

Phenomenal vacation! Highly recommend The Beach House

The best part of our stay was not the property, although the property is one of the nicest I've had the pleasure to stay in (particularly for Costa Rica), it was the people. The owner, Rick, was highly communicative and attentive to our every request. He even came over one night at 10pm to let us in the house when we'd locked ourselves out. He had great recommendations for restaurants, yoga, surf shops and instructors, mini trips to great surfing spots and sea turtle viewings, parties (it was new years) and bars, etc., and was quick to respond if there was a problem with anything. We became friends and will certainly be returning. In addition to Rick, the housekeeper / cook for the property is incredible. she cooked huge meals for us every day, with fresh local ingredients, including fruit and vegetables, native specialties, snacks, etc. We could have specified exactly what we wanted, but we left it to her every day and it was wonderful. the property was clean and new, with a full set of appliances, all handmade custom furniture, a nice hammock upstairs, easy outdoor dining, a communal bar area with a great pool and outdoor shower. It was such a great, relaxing place to stay as the new year turned over. There were other folks staying next door, and we all had a great time hanging out and relaxing with each other at night. Finally, the town and beach are phenomenal - you can't find a better surfing / yoga destination in this hemisphere in my opinion.

You have been amazing and we have really enjoyed our stay. Thank you for taking extra measures to ensure our safety, comfort and enjoyment. We are most grateful. A few days ago we began to discuss an investment opportunity. Do you have information in regards to investing in the beach house that I may share with my family?

Paradise Found

I recently stayed at the beach house in Guiones, Costa Rica 10 minutes drive from the Nosara, airport. The pictures on the web site do not do this property justice. The pool and outside living areas are secluded and surrounded by a veritable jungle of beautiful tropical plants and flowers. There are sunny & shaded areas to recline around the pool and Rancho, which is a wet bar with a refrigerator & freezer, convenient for making drinks and food for happy hour. The staff are courteous and friendly, constantly cleaning, tending to the lush foliage, cooking for you as an option. Rick the manager was available for any small thing that needed to be tended to, advice on the numerous restaurants, surf shops & Yoga facilities in the immediate area. The 2/2 Villas are comfortable & tastefully decorated in a Costa Rica motif using local woods & fabrics. The kitchen is very functional, with granite counter tops & everything you need to prepare great meals, which the chef did frequently. Everything about these condos was attractive inside & outside. The road to the beach [about 5 mins walk] is outside your door and is about 200 meters to the high tide line,as close as you are allowed to build in Guiones due to the conservation exclusion zone to preserve the natural beauty of the cove like beach with rocky bluffs on the north & south of it. Since the beach faces west the sunsets are absolutely amazing every night. There are numerous activities in the area like ATV rentals, surfing, yoga, ziplines, fishing for Sailfish & Marlins as well as spa services like massages of all sorts & types. It is a very relaxing place off the beaten track where you can really de-stress. I would highly recommend Guionis beach and the Beach House in particular.

The Beach House is a colorful and beautiful place located in the center of a tropical paradise, and is ready to provide you with everything you need for unforgettable holidays. Once there you do not need a car for anything. Practically at your front door is a spectacular white sand beach and blue waters, surrounded by mountains. This is an excellent place for surfing, walking on the beach, or just having fun with your kids. It is also located in the town of Guiones where there are many services available; you can find restaurants like the Gilded Iguana across the street, or Kaya Sol only 100 meters away (one of my favorites in the area). Also 75 meters form the property is a store where you can rent bicycles and videos, and there is a surf shop 50 meters away where they give surf lessons and rent boards. Next to this store is a supermarket, which accepts credit cards. You can get massages or yoga, or adventures in the mountains or the sea. There is so much to do in this quaint little town, and just minutes away from where you are staying. I can say definitely the place to hang out and enjoy everything Nosara has to offer.

We have had a wonderful time at the Beach House, it's location is awesome, 150 yards from the greatest surf beach and short strolling distance to restaurants, funky bars, grocery shops and quad rentals, everything is within minutes. We enjoyed sitting out on the terrace in the evenings after a dip in the pool and a cocktail at the communal bar. It's quiet and tranquil yet with fun places close by if you feel the need. The apartment is comfortably equipped and newly furnished with it's own washer/dryer, A/C, and wifi internet. If you are here to surf, you don't even need a car, a great place, we will be back.

We had a wonderful time at The Beach House. The villa is very clean, modern and well equipped with everything you need for a holiday.

Although located in the center of everything, we found ourselves in a very quiet oasis. The pool and rancho area was a tropical paradise, surrounded by wildlife, fruit trees, and blooming flowers. There are many varieties of birds and howler monkeys greeted us each morning.

Across the street you have a great restaurant and bar called The Gilded Iguana. It has great food, live music and very friendly staff.

The walk to the beach takes only about 3 min. It is a nice beach for surfing, sunning, walking/running.

Other things we had fun doing was the canopy tour through the rainforest and horseback riding.

At certain times of the year you can experience the turtles laying eggs and later on the hatching, a great thing to watch.

Overall the stay in The Beach House is highly recommended and we will definitely return one day.

We stayed at the beach house for 10 days and our main objective was to surf. The location is as good as it gets in Guiones, a short walk (or bike ride - we rented bikes for the entire stay) to everything but on a reasonably quiet street, and you can be in the surf in five minutes. The house is clean and comfortable, with a great hammock, wifi, a blender for juices and everything you need to feel comfortable and self-sufficient. The owner, Rick Wilkins, could not have been kinder and even offered us a ride on the few ocassions when a car was necessary ( eg, to get to zip lining and a restaurant just out of town). The only knock on the town - not the house - is that petty theft may be on the rise and so most houses have a mini-compound feel, with padlocked gates and barbed wire fences. It doesn't detract from the fun and we had no problems, but it's something to be aware of. Rick provided a security guard for added safety.

This was my second visit to Nosara and Playa Guiones but my first time renting a house. All I can say is what an awesome experience! Guiones itself is a piece of paradise but to have The Beach House as our home base was fantastic. Rick greeted us upon our arrival and showed us into the comfortable, clean, stylish oasis that is the Beach House. After a long day of travel to arrive and have our accommodation be so outstanding was a relief! The pool and bar area was a fun and relaxing place to spend lazy afternoons. The house itself was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our two week stay. We were a bit concerned about rumblings we heard about petty theft in the area but Rick put our minds at ease. The house is outfitted with an alarm and the over-night security guard helped us sleep soundly. Of course, as with any travel, we were careful and kept the blinds drawn and valuables secured and out of sight. As a single woman who often travels alone I can say Guiones is one of the safest places I've been. I have already recommended the Beach House to my friends and family and will be going back as soon as possible!

We went to Nosara with our two children age 8 and 10. The Beach House was terrific. It is as close to the beach as you can get in Nosara. The house was located close to everything so we didn't even need a car. They have landscaped the pool area with great care. The owner, Rick, was extremely helpful and even gave us rides for excursions/ store etc. The place had everything we needed. This was our best family vacation yet. The girls loved the surfing, Playa Ponies on the beach, and the zip-lining. If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica, I would highly recommend staying here!
